So you want to switch templates or change the template? Generally you cannot change an email afterwards, only during the clone or creation.
If you want to edit the template:
There are some threads on this already. The best thing to do is NOT do this. There is still a strong risk of causing the blank email effect.
Anytime you adjust a Template, it forces emails (or pages) which rely on that Template into draft mode. If you approve the draft first, then you will lose your entire email.
I want to SWITCH the template.... is that possible?
You cannot switch it. You can create a new email based on the template you wish to swithch to and then copy the copy from the old email to the new email.1 of 1 people found this helpful
This is an Idea that has been suggested and voted on strongly by the Community (https://community.marketo.com/MarketoIdeaDetail?id=08750000000Hw6LAAS) and liked as a future enhacement by Marketo, but it is complicated, especially if the old template and the new template are quite different (e.g. no columns to 2 columns). Please vote for this Idea.
This was an idea submitted 2 years ago!! I just hit this issue. I need to create an email from the template from scratch and copy/paste the copy? For real????
