Salesforce sync to contact

How does salesforce sync work if we only have contacts in use and not leads in our sfdc instance?

Re: Salesforce sync to contact

what syncs down to Marketo from Salesforce is determined by the User profile of the Salesforce cridential that you put into Marketo. You should be fine. Marketo uses a custom field called "SFDC Type" to distinguish between leads and contacts.

The issue you may face is with building Smart Lists. Fields on the contact layout and not also on the lead layout may not automatically be available for you to use for segementation.

Re: Salesforce sync to contact

If Marketo doesnt have access to the Lead object, it should create Contact objects.

You might have some issues with Contacts attached to the right Accounts, for instance a new contact being created that doesn't have a company name that matches anything precisely. You should test that.

I know there are some threads on this question.

Hi Josh,

Where can I denied the access to the Lead object? Is in Marketo or in Salesforce?

Thanks,
