We let our users determine what they deem as "success" based on their workflow needs. Everyone has their own definition of success which is why we leave this option up to our users. To mark an email as success, you will have to do so by:       (1) heading into the specific email you would like to mark       (2) double click on this email to open up the contact details pane       (3) select the Success button above the email Why this metric is important: This metric gets aggregated into the analytics page and also gets tracked in the template analytics for any template you do use. Using the Success button is a great way to keep tabs on the consistent messaging that is working for you so that you can share this with your team members. When you pull in a template in the compose screen, we will automatically show you a quick view of this success rate for this template.

View Options gives you the ability to filter through your emails. If you plan on looking at the same View Options results day-to-day, you will want to setup a saved search. For example, if you want to see all users who have clicked on your email over the past 7 days. You know that this is the first thing you are going to want to look at every morning. Instead of setting this up every morning you can have it just a click away. This way  you can spend some extra time on making that artisanal cup of coffee. What To Know About Saved Searches You cannot delete your saved searches. There is no limit to the amount of saved searches you can create You cannot rename your saved searches You will not be able to save a search in the Command Center tab. This tab already has filters placed on it. How To Save A Search 1) Click on your Sent tab 2) Click View Options 3) Set the search criteria you would like to have saved 4) Click on Save As 5) Label your saved search 6) Click Submit

Once this group is created and these contacts are added, you have two options when sending off this targeted group email: Email selected Using email selected, you can select the specific recipients in this group that you want to contact. This method also allows you to edit each email before it gets sent out. This method is recommended if you are looking to email around 15 recipients or less and would like to edit each email. From here, you can individually edit each of these emails and add specific content relevant to that recipient before this group email gets sent out. 2. Email Entire Group We also give you the option to send an email to everyone in this group and have this personalized information fill out for each recipient. This method is recommended when you are conducting those larger group sends. You will have to head into the group and select Email Entire Group. By doing so, this will pull in everyone in this group for you to email. Here you can pull in the designated template and select preview to get a glimpse of how this email is going to look before it gets sent. Once everything looks good, just hit send!

We've made updates to the "Unsubscribes" functionality in ToutApp that will provide options to append unsubscribe links to the very bottom of the email. These options exist on the template page, campaign page, and can be customized in the new "Timezone & Unsubscribes" page, under "Settings and Integrations" On this page, you'll find two boxes. One for "Unsubscribe" and the other for "Block Unsubscribe": Unsubscribe - This will remove the recipient from groups and fail any existing scheduled emails to the recipient. Block Unsubscribe - This will block the recipient from receiving emails from you and your team. In either box, you can customize the text for each unsubscribe link: To customize your unsubscribe message, simply type out your text and then highlight the portion that you want to be the link. Once highlighted, click on the chain link icon and a pop-up will appear: Don't worry about making any modifications here. Simply click "OK" Once you are happy with your customized unsubscribe message, you can head over to the Templates or Campaigns page where you'll be able to choose the Unsubscribe link(s) that you'd like to add, by checking either or both boxes, as shown below: These options have replaced the "Helpful" and "Simple" unsubscribe buttons. HANDLING DUPLICATE CONTACTS: As of 5/1/2017 ToutApp will look for duplicate contacts when a contact is unsubscribed. All duplicate contacts are now unsubscribed if: A person clicks on an unsubscribe link in a Touted email A Tout customer unsubscribes a contact in the Person Details view in Tout When a block unsubscribe is applied to a contact that has duplicates HANDLING BCC AND CC FIELDS: If a contact in the CC or BCC field of an email has previously unsubscribed from a Touted email, they will not receive the email they are cc/bcc’d on - however the email will still go out to the main recipient (if they are not unsubscribed). You will be alerted to this in the Alerts bell in the top navigation bar in ToutApp.com. FOR ENTERPRISE ADMINS: As an added functionality, team Admins can enable the ability to sync "Unsubscribes" with "Email Opt Out" in Salesforce. You can find this under the "Admin Settings" page - NOTE: this feature will use Salesforce API calls This functionality will allow you to push any "unsubscribes" that you have in ToutApp, over to SFDC. We are in the middle of a data migration to allow all double-byte characters(eg: 臼) to be uploaded in a CSV upload so we can better support our international customers. Unfortunately since it's a lot of data, and a long process it's creating some issues when uploading letters with accents during the migration. If you are seeing an error message like this, while it looks just like a bunch of Latin, the key is where it says "name =".  Whatever comes immediately after the phrase listed there is what is preventing your CSV from uploading.  You can search the CSV for that phrase and delete whatever comes immediately after. This can happen multiple times, and if this is the case you can also try these steps: for a Mac user: Right click csv file, and Open with Textedit File > Duplicate (⌘+Shift+S) File > Save (⌘+S) In the save dialog, under _Plain Text Encoding_ , choose _Unicode (UTF-8) Make sure to save it as a CSV from your finder Try uploading new file For a PC user: Open Notepad File > Open Choose CSV file File > Save as Append.csv to filename Save as type should be Text Documents Encoding should be UTF-8 Save and reupload Give that a shot and if you continue to have trouble, please send the CSV with a copy of the error message in Tout through toutapp.com/help. You can find the error message by clicking on our notifications icon.
