As a company, we work very hard to ensure that our deliverability rates remain high. Still, though, there are certain user behaviors that can trigger emails being sent to the spam folder. Here's what we recommend: Keep your emails short and informal and paste your templates as an email you've written before. Make sure you have a fully completed email signature with a physical address. Use Google or Outlook to send your emails, or set up an SMTP to deliver messages through your own servers.

If a contact is on a campaign, or if the contact is owned by someone else on the team you will not be able to delete a contact. If they are on a campaign, first remove them from the campaign and then you can delete them.  If they are owned by a team member, you will need to ask them to either un-share the group they are on, or delete them from their own account.

Since Tout sits on top of your email account it's easy to accidentally connect to your personal gmail account, so we made it easy to get rid of this erroneous connection.  We can only support one authentication at a time, so it's best just to get rid of the personal gmail account.  Open your Settings and click disconnect from Gmail. Then, refresh the page and click Connect and authenticate with your work email. If you continue to have trouble - please fill out the rest of this form.

Simply put, an SMTP server is a machine, or collection of machines, whose primary purpose is to send, receive, and/or relay messages between email senders and receivers. An SMTP server will have an address, or addresses, that can be set by the mail client or application that you are using, generally formatted as smtp.serveraddress.com. Most server names are written in the form "smtp.domain.com" or "mail.domain.com": for instance, a Gmail account will refer to smtp.gmail.com. But that's not a unified rule, so you should pay attention and get the right SMTP parameters. Remember anyway that only a professional SMTP server will guarantee that all your emails will be correctly delivered. Generally speaking, free outgoing servers like the ones associated to Gmail or Hotmail are not designed for mass email sending. So if you're putting up a newseltter campaign or simply don't want to get any of your messages lost, you should switch to a dedicated outgoing server. Our view tracking is done by placing an invisible image inside the body of the email so that when the email is opened and the image is opened, the view is triggered. What this means is that if the person you are contacting doesn't have images enabled on their email account they might not trigger a view. We suggest adding images to your templates or a logo to your signature to prompt contacts to enable images in case they have it set by default to be off.

Attaching a .PDF is a great way to keep your email short and let your marketing team do the talking. However, sending an email with a large file could prevent your recipient from receiving your emails. Typically, any file over 20MB will be too large to be delivered. However, the size of an attachment you can send via email varies depending on the email delivery channel you are using. When using Tout as your email delivery channel, we recommend files of 19MB or less when sending emails. If you absolutely need to send a large file, try zipping it first or upload it as a trackable attachment in ToutApp.com.

We track email opens by placing an invisible image inside the emails you send. If someone responded to your email but ToutApp is not saying it was viewed, then they have not enabled images within their email client. Some tips for getting better tracking stats on your emails: 1. Include an image in your emails, like a logo, so that your recipient is encouraged to enable images to see your message. 2. Include a link as a call to action in your message.
