I've seen this question around the Community, but haven't found a solution yet.
Is there a way to automatically adjust the activity type for Sales Emails sent via Sales Insight in Salesforce? Currently we have many reports and dashboards that display Sales activities by activity type, but Sales Insight Sales Emails are logged with a blank activity type.
Has anyone been able to successfully log these activities under an activity type?
Scott, I have the same issue. The work around I do is in the activity reports add a filter for subject. If activity type is blank, subject starts with Was Sent Sales Email.. and the blank activity type in the report means sales email... something like this:
|Filtered By:(1 AND 2) OR 3 Edit|
|1. Subject starts with Was Sent Sales Email|
|2. Activity Type equals|
|3. Activity Type not equal to|
I know this is not perfect... but at least the sales emails roll up somewhere
Thanks, Liz! Definitely makes sense. We're filtering in a similar way but wish we could pull in the Activity Type in our dashboard reports, rather than have them show up as "-"
