Leads sources to be used

Dear Community,

In order to help you when you have to filled the Marketo "Source" field, I just wanted to remind you the frequent values tu used :

  • Direct email
  • Email Blast
  • Gated Content
  • IATC Event
  • Lectra Hosted Event
  • List Import
  • Live Sponsored Event
  • Online Advertising
  • Phone Lead
  • Sales
  • Telemarketing
  • Tradeshow
  • Web Contact
  • Webinar

As you already know Other Lead Source are available in the list of value but please be careful because they are very specific and must not be used as often as they are :

  • Nurture : only applicable when a lead is created thanks to the launch of nurturing program. And for now we have launched only once in Lectra (for Furniture).
  • Newsletter : applicable when the lead was captured thanks to a newsletter.
  • Web Journey : to be used when a lead was created because he visited our websites and then subscribed to a newsletter. Normally.
  • Social Network Sharing : leads created because he clicked on a Marketo Social button on a landing page. We haven’t developed yet this functionality in Marketo.

Moreover, don't forget that the uncorrect Lead Sources, as part our Database Cleansing Plan and Enhancement, must be cleaned at the lastest on December 2016 (including the Marketo Leads with "To update" as source that should no longer exist).

We are going to create for you a report in your own Workspace, to show your lead captures in 2016 grouped by lead sources. This report is in Analytics :

Where to update the uncorrect Lead Sources ?

  • If it concerns a SFDC Lead or Contact, the correction of Lead Sources can be done in SFDC or in Marketo. Note it as to be done in only one of the systems as the update will be synchronized between the two systems.
  • For the Cold lead you can only change the source in Marketo since the Lead exists only in Marketo.

Where to find the list of my uncorrect Lead Sources ?

Sorry ladies but the link doesn't work on my marketo, anyway are we speaking about the list ADMIN_Lead source uncorrect?

Dear Stella,

Yes we are talking about the list ADMIN_Lead source uncorrect

The report called : "Lead source captured by source and market in 2016" is now available for each of you in your respective Marketo Workspace.

This report is in Analytics / Group Report / Lead Reports:

Dear Maylys,

What's the difference between "Phone Lead" and “Telemarketing”?

If we receive an incoming call from Marketing Hotline or Call Center, what's the correct lead source? Phone Lead?

Currently we have multiple source for MQL:

1. From telemarketing vendor

2. From Client Rep cold call

3. Inbound Lead from Marketing Hotline

4. Inbound Lead from Call Center

5. Inbound Lead from Wechat

6. Inbound Lead from Baidu Searching Engine

Is it possible to know the lead number by these 6 sources? What's the correct lead source for them?

Dear Community,

A new lead source is now available in our Marketo list of values : "Partner".

The lead source "partner" will be used for leads captured via third-parties websites (associations, partners,etc).

Example for Lectra gated content published on third-party website (i.e : via Justyle website).

Be careful not to be confused with "Live Sponsored Event" source which is only applicable for leads captured during events organised by partners and sponsored by Lectra.

* for these two sources, we generally do list import but you must be sure that these leads gave their agreement/authorisation to the partner for Lectra internal use of their information.

Hello,

Concerning the lead source, firstly because of the new naming of Marketo from "Leads" to "People", please know that the field is now called "Person source" in Marketo.

We also inform you that since last week, the list of values of this field "person source" changed in Marketo and Salesforce:

  - "IATC" renamed by "Corporate event"

  - "Phone lead" renamed by "Inbound call"

And the values are now explained and updated in the PPT Marketing data guidelines published in the Marketing Community : https://lectra.my.salesforce.com/sfc/#version?selectedDocumentId=069b00000029G3R  .

This PPT will also be updated soon with the new naming of Marketo from "Leads" to "People".
