Dear Community,
To clean cases of following duplicates :
- Cold Lead in Marketo with SFDC Lead
- Cold Lead in Marketo with SFDC Contact
First, you must complete the email address in Salesforce, and save.
Thus, after maximum 5 minutes, the SFDC lead/contact will appeared in duplicate in Marketo (the synchronization will work because of the email address).
Then, you will finally be able to merge the two leads in Marketo.
Please let us know when you have experienced that with the link of the Salesforce lead/contact.

I tried to follow the procedure you explained but I maybe make something wrong because my cold leads (active) are only two, is it possible? I insert the filters below , could you please confirm me is it right?

Hi Stella,
To identify the Cold Lead :
Cold Leads in Marketo are not concerned by the field "Active/Inactive Contacts", only applicable for SFDC Contacts.
For the Duplicates you have a Smart List called "Possible Duplicates" :

Hi Maylys, sorry to bother you again but I probably missed some steps...
I updated my smart list following your filters- without insert active/inactive - but as you can see as example I have at least 3 leads already in SFDC (the email is the same) but the status is inactive. Notice that the field active(inactive in marketo is empty!

Dear Stella,
Your case is a bit specific because you asked for a list import for targeting in September but some leads were imported by error in Marketo because there were inactive in Salesforce.
I suggest you simply delete these leads in Marketo without deleting them in Salesforce.
How to do that?
- you slect the lead in Marketo
- you click on "Delete lead"
- you select False to the question "Remove from CRM".
- you click on "Run Now".

Thanks Marina but I have another tricky case for you.
The lead Roberto de Lorenzo (Kover- email roby@kover.it) active contact, is already in SFDC as a contact (exactly the same information) but the SFDC field in marketo is empty...

Dear,
You had an active SFDC contact with a generic email address info@,
When he filled out the Web form with his real email,a Marketo Cold lead was created (the one you see here in your Cold lead Smart List), in duplicate with the existing Active Contact for which Barbara Raele updated the email address.
Now you should merge the two Marketo leads and please could you send us the link of the SFDC page when done ?
