Marketing Automation Specialist

The Marketing Automation Specialist will have the opportunity to bring their skills and experience to truly build and own a key part of the marketing strategy. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role will be responsible for the creation and coordination of all things digital. An ideal candidate will be comfortable with being proactive and have an appetite for directly owning and tackling new challenges to bring digital sophistication to Nexum’s marketing activities.

Email Operations (70%)

  • Own the production of emails from the receipt of creative assets through the actual deployment of the campaign, including coding, QA testing, building campaign logic, deployment, A/B testing and reporting
  • Maintain list hygiene and segmentation including de-duplication, email validation, and monitor data flows between marketing automation platform & CRM
  • Execute A/B testing strategy to optimize email performance & analyze results
  • Maintain and improve existing automated lead generation and life-cycle campaigns
  • Develop new automated campaigns based on customer insights
  • Maintain email marketing calendar and keep stakeholders updated on asset due dates
  • Project manage ad-hoc email campaigns initiated by external stakeholders. Brief stakeholders on the email operations processes. Code, QA, deploy and report on their campaign performance
  • Ensure all campaigns adhere to our legal team’s protocols for CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR compliance

Reporting & Documentation (30%)

  • Analyze, monitor and communicate performance of email campaigns
  • Monitor email health metrics, deliverability, sender score, IP address statuses
  • Document all email communications & strategy in our Wiki

Skills required:

  • 2+ years’ experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, analytics
  • Experience coordinating and executing email campaigns using an automation platform (Experience with Marketo a must)
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS and email design – Strong understanding of email coding and best practices, including responsive design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com CRM, Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Careful attention to detail without sacrificing deadlines. The right candidate will be able to juggle several, sometimes conflicting deadlines
  • Self-starter/Self-motivated/Decision making capabilities
