Marketo Info to SFDC notes field

I'm trying to pull data from our Marketo Leads and export that to our Salesforce "Notes & Attachments" field for the contact.  Is there a way to do that without overriding any information already in that field?

Hello,
I dont think this is possible yet. The work around could be creating a task in SFDC on the contact where you dump the selected content you want from your marketo lead into the task comment field in salesforce.com.

I've had the same issue and both created a task and sent an alert email using tokens with the information I wanted to pass to sales.

Would be great to sync data into the notes field though.

Hi everyone,

Good news -- this is already supported within Marketo.

The Salesforce "Notes & Attachment" field is mapped to the "Person Notes" in Marketo. To append information from Marketo to that field, do the following:

• Create a Marketo-only field called "Info to append"

• Use the "Change Data Value" flow action to put the relevant info into your new field "Info to append"
• Then create a campaign to use the "Change Data Value" flow action to update "Person Notes" to a new value of "{{Lead.Person Notes}} {{Lead.Info to append}}"

Here's what I used as my Smart List:


Here's what I used for my Flow Actions (I also set the Info to Append to NULL so it's empty in case you need to use it again -- and also so it doesn't keep getting appended over & over):

• Then, the next time the Salesforce sync happens, the Salesforce "Notes & Attachment" field will be updated to include the appended info

I've verified this works in my Marketo instance, but please make sure you test this out before you widely implement it since an incorrect set up could result in data loss.

Is creating a new field necessary? Can't you just import a list of leads and when you are on the "import preview" section of the import, you indicate your marketo notes to be under the "Person Notes" section? (see below)

I have tested this and it looks like the description field syncs when pairing with "Person Notes". The issue is, when you convert the lead to an opportunity in SFDC, the description field does not carry over. What SFDC field can we match these notes to, so that the data carries over when importing a list of leads into Marketo?

I am also wanting to utilze the Person Notes field via and import and pass new marketing notes to sales to the Notes section on the lead or contact verses using the description field, for it will not append data, but replace the existing with new data which is an issue.
