Re: Valentine's Day, Yes or No?

I'm fond of the idea of Valentine's Day....and the sentiment behind it, just not the commericalism.

I'm hit and miss...although I really like the marketing memes that day.

Re: Valentine's Day, Yes or No?

My wedding anniversary is Feb 15th so Valentines day gets completely overlooked.

I agree with the sentiment, but hate the commercialization and the inherent pressure. My girlfriend and I just stay home, make pizza, and watch a movie. It's a great tradition!

I dislike Valentines day.... If you care for someone, you should express your feelings all throughout the year. With Christmas and a birthday, we don't need another reason to buy our significant other a gift. 3 major presents in 1 year is alot. I'm also not really into presents so maybe that's why....

Seems pointless to me...why show the person you love that much love on one day when you can do it all year round!

Living in Wales we celebrate St Dwynwen's Day, the Welsh patron saint of lovers, on 25th January - a much older and truly historic celebration of love versus St Valentine's day which is more of a commercial enterprise.

I love Valentines Day, but not for the commercialism representation of the holiday. My husband and I make sure to spend extra quality time together explaining to eachother all the things we love about one another.
