Tokens used as URLs

I sent out an email blast using tokens to change URL's of links - I didn't put the full url in the token, I only put part of it so Marketo would track the clicks. When I pull a email link performance report I am able to see all the differnet urls but when I try and create a smart list to see who those people are I get no one.

My smart list is clicked link in email, constraints is link http://{token}

Any one know of how I can find out who clicked on each link in the email?

Re: Tokens used as URLs

Hi Adriana, I haven't tried that method of http://{{token}}, but have found that regular text tokens as URLs aren't trackable, but Rich Text Tokens as links are trackable. For this reason, we use these for our URLs.

Re: Tokens used as URLs

Well, I fear the answer is: You can't. If you want to use the click link condition in a smart list you have to put the link directly on the asset (email or landing page) and not use tokens.

What you did is correct though. If you remove the "http://" from the token and place it on the email, Marketo can decorate the link and thus allow for click tracking. But that's not sufficient for the use of the click link trigger or filter in a smart list or smart campaign. Very unfortunate, but that's my state of knowledge.
