San Fran Bridge Image and Others

Im not too thrilled to be looking at the San Fran bridge everytime I log into Marketo. Im not sure why this was added or why development spent time on this - anyone else think there are other improvements that could have been focused on first???  Is there a way to remove/customize this?

I am afraid there is no way to customise the background image (yet).

Re: San Fran Bridge Image and Others

Can we get rid of it at least? This bridge is one of the top suicide locations in America so not exactly a good landmark to promote (and we dont all live in or even like San Fran). The rocks are very distracting in the engagement program sections too. Id love to know why this was even put in the product.

Hopefully somebody from product management will reply your comments. I am just a Technical Support Engineer with no decision power.

It is likely upcoming enhancements will allow users to upload background images.

I understand your point regarding the distration and the choice of landmark. Fortunately the bridge's history has far negative impact on European users (like me) than anyone closer to its tragic events.

As I understand it, the images will change every so often, allowing new images to be chosen. They didn't JUST want photos of flowers, so being a Bay area company they chose a nearby landmark. Personally I don't think it's a BFD & enjoy seeing a little scenery instead of a white monitor everyday.

How about no images and the dev team focuses on enhancing product features??

Many new features have been released over the past 6 months, including some huge winners such as the engagement program and you can see the amount of positive feedback on the latest forms 2.0 release. With other features in the works such as the much requested marketing calendar I can assure that the dev team is very much focusing on enhancing the product.

We will be choosing a new artist for photos in an upcoming release.  Christina, if you have an artist you like, please send their info over.  I'll be choosing from several different possibilities and would love to see photos you like.

The photos are a chance for us to show our creative side.  They do not take up valuable feature or engineering time.  However, they make us happy, which in turn makes us more productive and thus delivering goodness faster.

Some of my current favorites:

Re: San Fran Bridge Image and Others

Nice idea with the photos and I like them. I like the idea of the rotating photos to keep things fresh.

I'm not suggesting this for me but I could see that some photos could bother a minority of people. The SF bridge is beautiful to most people but it could be a bad reminder for some.

Might be a good idea to give users the ability to turn off  photos if it takes zero time do engineeringwise. If it takes more time than the time it took me to write this, leave as is.
