Our Salesforce administrator has made a field in Saleforce visible to Marketo but this is still not appearing in Marketo. Is there normally a delay with these syncs and does anyone know approx. how long this should take before the field is visible in Marketo or if there could be another issue as to why this isn't visible yet? We've only waited a few hours but I would have thought it should have appeared by now.
It's not a normal lead field, like lead source, etc - it sits on the campaign member so unsure if this affects anything?

Where are you looking for that field?
If it's really created in SFDC on the campaign member object then you will not see it in the Field admin section of Marketo. The only place you will see campaign member fields is as a constraint in the "Member of SFDC campaign" filter -
Thanks Cathal - I can see the value there now. So we wouldn't be able to use this as a hidden value on a form? We were hoping to make the field visible, so if someone submits a form from a specific campaign email their invite source will be updated in SFDC to reflect this value.
Did you look at the admin field mapping section? That tends to be the best place to troubleshoot this type of information. Depending on the field permissions for the Marketo profile in SFDC, you will/will not be able to use it as a hidden field on the form. Check the field mapping to see the permissions and how it can be used.
This is what we do: we create a field on lead /contact, but it has to be done with caution: you only have 1 field for many campaigns and it can be overwritten easily.
