I have an onboarding campaign that I would like to run for multiple customers. The flow includes multiple emails and wait steps that, in total, take about 15 days to run. I successfully launched the first batch for Customer X yesterday. I'd like to run the same campaign today for Customer Y. I updated my smart list to include Customer Y, but when I look at the potential recipients of this next batch run, it doesn't include anyone from Customer Y.
Do I need to wait for the entire 15 day campaign to finish before I can edit my smart list filters and re-run for a new customer?
I have about 140 new customers I need to onboard in the coming weeks so I'm looking for the easiest way to manage that process and control the launch date of each specific customer's onboarding experience. Any suggestions?
Hey Nick, that sounds strange that no records from company Y are in the potential recipients. I'd confirm that the smart list was set up properly, but you don't need to wait for the entire 15 day campaign to finish before editing the smart list and re-run. From what you've described, you've set things up properly to have everyone onboarded easily.
One way you can check the smart list filters is create a new smart list with the same filters in your smart campaign, and see what comes up. Also, you might totally refresh your browser, as maybe something is just stuck in your smart campaign.
Thanks for the quick response Dory. I followed your suggestion and set up a new test campaign with the same filters. In that campaign Customer Y is included in my potential leads list, but it still doesn't include them in the original campaign.
I logged out of Marketo and back in, but still nothing. Any other ideas or suggestions?
Assuming that the campaign is showing that it will send to 0 people, it's a little nerve wracking, but I'd ensure that the campaign rules state that someone can only flow through once, and then I'd let it rip for the company Y you want to add today.
Chances are good that it would go out to them, but if not, then the worst thing that happens is you miss a little bit of time getting it out to them, and you could troubleshoot with support as to why it didn't go to them.
Sometimes Marketo doesn't show me exactly what I want to see, but as long as I feel confident with what I've set up (and it sounds like your setup works), then I let it go anyway.
Short of doing this... can you tweak the filter to send to just you, or a seed list -- and do you show up? Maybe you could do a test to yourself or a seed list and then feel confident in adding company Y in.
