One Time Lead Scoring Increases for a Content Category

Does anyone know if it is possible to trigger a lead score increase based on someone visiting a specific
blog category, but only trigger the increase the first time they visit the
category. I don't want it to increase the lead score every time, just the
first time. The category represents an important decision making point, but
once they view the category they could view multiple articles.

If so, does anyone know how to do this?

If not, how would you recommend doing this when there are multiple blog
posts that relate the "decision making category" without having to indicate
each URL and with the ability to only trigger the lead score increase 1
time?

I'd like to be able to say anyone with a lead score in the 1000 range is an
X and anyone in the 2000 range is a Y. They would get a 1000 point increase
the first time they visit the category that indicates X. Then they could
get another 1000 point increase if they visit the category that indicates
Y. Or maybe I should make that a 2000 point increase in case they never
visited the category X because it is a linear tracking?

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it!

Thank you!

If you set up a triggered smart campaign to fire when they visit the category, you'd just have to set the schedule to only allow a lead to run through the campaign once and not every time. This way they'll get the score boost the first time and then never again.

You would set the SChedule as Matt indicates.

You can also have Change Score Choice Steps that say if Lead Score >=1000, then+5; Lead Score>=2000, then +10

You might have to do that with Smart Lists because you can't have a score range in a Choice Step.
