Lots of folks in a Nurture program not receiving messages despite active stream, being qualified.

We just set up a new Engagement program. There are campaigns to import both existing leads and to introduce new people as they enter the database. The program membership is at 65k -- but only 4 people received the first email. There are 3 emails activated and everyone should be at the top of the stream, so the issue isn't exhaustion. Any ideas what we did wrong? Common missteps here?

Thank you!

Kia ora Anna,

There's a few things to check, some of which you have already done - which is great

  • Email content is Active
  • Leads have an active cadence (not paused)
  • Have leads been sent this content before? If so, Marketo won't send it again
  • Are leads sitting in the right stream?
  • Stream Cadence has been set (sending date/time)
    • If your Stream Cadence is set to operate using local timezone, then Marketo will start processing this 25 hours ahead of time which will delay the sending
  • Are leads unsubscribed, invalid, or marketing suspended?
