How does Marketo define if the activity of the lead or contact should be updated?
Gerard provides a good resource here, yet it can become confusing when sending an email or uploading via a list as to which person will be associated with that activity.
However, Nick, your question is concerning actual lead activity, which can only be associated to one lead via their unique ID. So if there are duplicate people in the system and one clicks a link in an email, only that person will be associated with that activity and score increase.
So if I have a lead and a contact with the same email address, it treats it as duplicates? Thanks for the article, got a lot wiser
