How to create a scheduled report on sales sent emails?

I would like to create a scheduled report to be sent nightly and/or weekly to show email performance of personalized emails sales reps are sending through Marketo Sales Insight. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, we can't build email performance reports for sales emails sent via Sales Insight. Vote on this idea - http://community.marketo.com/MarketoIdeaDetail?id=08750000000HBDAAA4 - and there are some suggestions for a work-around in the comments section.

Re: How to create a scheduled report on sales sent emails?

I created a Lead Performance report grouped by Lead Owner Full Name (custom field).  Its smart list uses the Sales Email was Sent filter wtih the "Subject is any" and Date of Activity constraints.  Then I created a Clicked and Opened smart list using the Clicked Link in Sales Email and Opened Sales Email filters with the "Subject: is any" and Date of Activity constraints.

This only shows a summary by sender and if your Date of Activity in the report and smart lists is longer than "Yesterday", the results rapidly become inaccurate, but it can be scheduled and provide some data.  You can also group by Email Address and have separate reports for each sales rep if you need to see a list of the leads.

Hi Elliott,

Why do the results rapidly become inaccurate?

Re: How to create a scheduled report on sales sent emails?

This technique only counts the lead once, regardless of how many sales emails they were sent during the evaluation period.  If the evaluation period is only a day of two long, chances are that most leads would have only been sent one sales email and that their open and/or clicks were for that single email.  If the evaluation period is over a week long, the counts will likely not accurately represent the numbers of emails sent.  For example if a lead owner sent two emails to each of his leads during the period and he has 100 leads, the report will only show that 100 emails were sent, rather than 200.  The same applies to the counts of clicks and opens.  You can evaluate a longer period using this technique as long as you understand that it is showing only how many leads have been sent one or more emails during the period, and how many of those leads opened and/or clicked at least one of those emails during the period.
