How do you prevent a sent email from turning a web domain into a link?

We are sending out an email that referes to a company name that is a web domain (e.g. Ancestry.com).  When the email is sent, Marketo or the receiving client is converting the name into a link, which is not desired.  Is there a way to insert some type of HTML code that will prevent this?

Did you try putting in the ASCII code for the period? Might trick the local client?

Or you could circumvent it perhaps by putting in a CSS styled hyperlink that matches the page and let it serve as a name reference, that might over rule it?
