Is there any way we can stop creating duplicate leads if someone is creating the lead manually?
we have the leads flowing form CRM and other sources, where we dont see any issue of duplicate leads. For list upload we have the dedupe process in place.
But still the manual creation of lead is a challenge.
We tried removing the lead creation right for few members, but it will not completely remove the risk.
Also have the smart list which gives the possible duplicates by email address but that is reactive. Is there any way we can make any rule or workflow to catch it during the time of creation.
There's nothing that can completely stop a Marketo user from changing a lead so it has the same email address as another lead, without also disrupting expected features.
For example, blocking field updates in Admin » Field Management would seemingly help, but will end up breaking your ability to change email addresses at all.
@SanfordWhiteman Thank you for looking into it and replying. Agree with you that we cannot completely stop it and if we try to fix it by putting restrictions that will adversely affect other feature.
Can we add this as an idea and see if there can be a product upgrade where this functionality can be added somehow?
