Capturing the date for when an email was captured instead of first cookied

The "Created At" and "Lead was Created" fields are very different in definition. "Created At" is when a lead is first cookied and "Lead was Created" is when Marketo first got their email. We want get the actual dates for "Lead was Created"  for each lead. 

However, it looks like we can on use "Lead was Created" in a smart list filter and not as a field in a report. Has anyone been able to get the dates for when an email was captured as a field?

you could add a central flow that listens for the lead creation and stamp a field "Email Captured Date" with {{system.date}}
