Batch Campaign Testing

I'm looking for best practices for testing a batch campaign before going live.  I know this may sound simple, but there are multiple ways of doing this.

Re: Batch Campaign Testing

What are you trying to accomplish with the campaign?

The simplest way to test is remove any actions in the campaign that could cause problems (e.g. data changes, email sends, alerts, etc). So for instance if you just want to see the possible affected leads, you could simply generate a list and spot check it.

If you're looking to test the flow of everything, then just change the smart list filters to only include a test lead (ideally you). Then you can run through entire flow and check that lead's activity log to make sure everything fired properly.

Depending on what the flow and smart list are:

Smart List: just add Email Address= or CONTAINS you@yourcompany.com or @testdomain.com. I always keep a list of test leads and use those. I call this "putting on the brakes"

Flow: if you have wait steps, always modify these to 1 minute.

If you have multiple possibilities or actions, you will need to take those actions, one at a time, monitor the results, and then reset the leads to go again.

Schedule: run every time because you will re-use leads.
