Affect Lead Score Using Sales Insight By Sending Salesforce Emails

I am looking to have emails that I send through SF affect the lead score in Marketo.  Our Pre-Sales team uses Sales Insight and also sends a variety of their emails through SF(Although I know they should probably begin sending them through marketo).  I have been looking and cannot seem to find if it is possible and if it is how to assign points to SF emails.  Thoughts?

The trigger for MSI are the triggers that include Sales Email, ex: Was sent sales email. I'd suggest keeping this simple and just having all MSI emails waited the same as the criteria for defining specific ones is either subject line or template ID and neither work well for me ever.

Then the flow would be the score change.

Thanks for the response!  However, I was under the impression that "Sales Emails" just refered to any emails sent to a lead from Marketo.  If I chose "Was sent sales email" and set it to "any", will that include any email sent through SF as well?

Hi Bryant

There are two separate triggers, "Was Sent Email" refers to emails sent by Marketo. "Was Sent Sales Email" refers to emails sent through Salesforce using Sales Insight. Kim's response is correct - if you use "Was Sent Sales Email" is "any", you will see ONLY those emails sent through Sales Insight.

So when building the lead scoring smart campaign, this is what you'd use.

Veronica thanks for your help! That works great if I would be sending the emails in SF through MSI in SF.  

However, some members of our Pre Sales Team still send email through SF itsself and not MSI.  It is those emails that come from SF that I was curious as to if we can track using MSI and assign Points.  I know in the long term I will most likely have to transition all of the emails sent through Salesforce into MSI, but I am looking for an "In the meantime" solution.

Ahh, sorry I misunderstood. There is no workaround for this, Marketo does not track emails sent through Salesforce that are not sent through Marketo Sales Insight.
