Issue: When building 'Program Membership Analysis' reports in RCE, the Program Status is not sorted according to the step values in the Program Channel. For example in the below screenshot: The value of the steps are clearly showing the progression of statuses from start to finish. However when building a 'Program Membership Analysis' report, it is showing that the order of the status is not correct. 'New Member (Influenced)' should be appearing after 'Subscribed by Form - Non Member.' Troubleshooting: Make sure that you do not have any other Programs Channels with the same Status, as this will cause issues. There is a deduplication that occurs in the backend which causes an issue when a 'Program Membership Analysis' report is created, if there is more than one Program Channel that has the same Program Status it will deduplicate and the one displayed might be due to the lower step. Another issue that might happen also due to having more than one occurance of Program Status in other Program Channels is that other Program Statuses might appear in the report due to this. Resolution: We currently do not support having more than one Program Status appear in the Program Channels, each Program Status has to be unqiue or issues with displaying Program Statuses will appear. NOTE: This is due to be fixed in 2019-Q4 release.
Issue Description What is the difference between RCE, RCA, RCM, Success Path Analyzer, and Opportunity Analyzer? Issue Resolution RCE - Revenue Cycle Explorer . This is the and advanced reporting tool in Marketo if you have purchased it for your instance. It is mostly helpful in running certain large pivot tables, analyzing the Sales Funnel, and showing ROI on marketing's contribution to opportunities. RCA - Revenue Cycle Analytics - while this term is often used interchangeably with RCE, it is in fact a different feature set, specifically, the Success Path, Opportunity, and Program Analyzers. RCM - Revenue Cycle Model - This is inside the main MLM tool. It does not require RCE, but it is more useful if you have RCE. The Model lets you build a model of your funnel with Stages and Transitions. This is needed in order for Marketo to understand your funnel metrics and how to calculate this. This data goes into RCE and the Success Path Analyzer. Success Path Analyzer - This is a tool in MLM that only works if you turn on RCM with your Lifecycle. It only shows the green success path. Pretty useful, but RCE is more detailed. Opportunity Analyzer - This is intended to show Sales that their Opportunity indeed had marketing influence because it shows all the Interesting Moments and Program Success points for the Contact Role and any related Contacts on the Opp's Account.
Issue Description Reporting options available for Text-Only emails. Issue Resolution There is no available reporting to determine the performance of Text-Only emails. When an email is sent from Marketo, both the HTML and Text-Only versions are sent, and the receiving server chooses the one to hand off. Marketo uses a single pixel image to track Open activity emails. Since there are no images in Text-Only emails, Open activities cannot be tracked. However, Clicked Link activities can be tracked as long as URLs in the Text-Only emails are formatted according to this document - Add Tracked Links to a Text Email - Marketo Docs - Product Documentation.
Issue Description Reporting on separate links in an email that both point to the same URL Issue Resolution When there are duplicate links in an email, the performance of those links will be consolidated into a single row in the Analytics report, so if there are three links that point to the same URL, there will only be a single line for that link on the Performance report. If you would like to differentiate between these duplicates, you can add URL Parameters. Example: www.google.com and www.google.com?parameter=second-link In this example, Marketo Link Performance Reporting will show each individual link on Analytics Reporting, but both links will go to the same place.
Issue Description You are utilizing Forms on Marketo Landing Pages, and want to run reporting on these forms. Issue Resolution Currently the only asset reporting Marketo has is Email, and a little bit of Landing Page reporting. We would not have this ability to report on Forms. One option would be to use Web Page reporting - this reported information would be limited to Marketo Pages with numbers of records who filled out the form, listed under "conversions." You could then create a Smart List to identify leads who have filled out these forms. Is this article helpful ? YesNo
Issue Description You are utilizing Snippets within Emails and now want to run Link/usage reporting on these Snippets. Issue Resolution Currently the only asset reporting Marketo has is Email, and a little bit of Landing Page reporting. We would not have this ability to report on Snippets. One option would be to use an Email Link Performance Report - however this would require that you know which links are in which Snippets.
Issue Description Even though the report and smart list may be looking at exactly the same thing (e.g. an email sent to a specific group on a specific day), many times the numbers in the report do not match the results of the smart list. Issue Resolution Reports in Marketo like the Email Performance Report are returning results of activities that occurred in your instance, while smart lists return results of currently existing person records. When a person is deleted or merged, the activities associated with the person do not get pruned or purged. So a smart list that looks for opened email will return all the currently existing records who have that open activity but will not return results of deleted or merged records. Conversely, a report looking at the same thing will return all activities, even if the records no longer exist.
Issue Description If an email has been sent and then the name of either the asset or the sending campaign has then been changed afterwards the reporting information will not reflect the updated name of the email asset. Issue Resolution This behavior is expected as the activity that was written with the original name was on the lead level and not the level of the asset. If one email is selected within an email link performance report this will break out the activity into two different rows as the activities still retain the original name and are listed separately from the new name. Issue Description You are using the Marketo Event Check-in App and would like to know what sort of reporting options are available. Issue Resolution There are no native out-of-the-box reports set up to recognize when the Event Check-in App. Depending on the sort of reporting you are looking for, you could use channels and tags in a program and set leads to the appropriate program status, but there is no reporting specific to the app itself. Issue Description You are considering archiving or deleting old programs, and you are wondering how that will affect the Lead field: Acquisition Program. Issue Resolution If you delete a Marketo Program, the field will append a "deleted" at the end of the Program Name. For example, if the Program Name was "July 2016 newsletter" for Acquisition Program, after deleting the Program, the field value would change to: "July 2016 newsletter - deleted (####)". The numbers represent an activity ID on the backend. Note: Archiving Programs does not affect the Acquisition Program. Is this article helpful ? YesNo
Issue Description You are considering archiving or deleting old programs, and you are wondering how that will affect reporting on membership of leads. Issue Resolution If you delete a Marketo Program, the membership data will be lost. Technically, in the Lead record Activity Log, there will not be an activity for "no longer in program," but any and all reporting will not be able to report from deleted programs. Keep in mind that Marketo Support cannot restore deleted programs. Archiving Programs keeps program membership data. This means that Analytics reporting, including Revenue Explorer, will be able to see archived programs and the related data. However, smart lists will no longer be able to reference the archived program. For example, say the smart list was: "Member of Program, program is [name]". In this situation, the smart list wouldn't be able to locate the program. Is this article helpful ? YesNo
Issue Description A newly created Program is not showing up in Program Cost Analysis Report. Issue Resolution The Program Cost Analysis Report takes a little time to show new Programs that have just been created. It doesn't do much good to show a success metric before a program has had a chance to succeed so it needs time in order for data to be collected. If you don't see the program in the report within 48 hours, check these things: If there is a view filter in place The program is active and approved If all that looks good contact Support for additional troubleshooting.
Issue Description You see that a lead has an unusually high amount of Clicked Link activity for a particular email after delivery. Issue Resolution There can be a couple reasons for this. If you see that all links in the email are being clicked immediately upon delivery, it is likely that the lead's email security software is link-testing to guard against phishing or malicious links. However, if you see an unusually large number of link clicks over the course of a day or two, it may be that the lead forwarded the email to other people who clicked on the links. Since the tracking links are specific to the lead who was sent the original email, if the email is forwarded to other people, their clicks will be recorded under the initial lead's activity history. Marketo does not have a way to confirm this is the case, but if you open the Click Link activities in the leads Activity Log and look at the details, you may see the User Agent (which indicates the operating system and client software used to display the email) is different for each click. If you see a variety of different user agents in the details, it is likely the email is being opened and clicked by different people who were forwarded the email.
