Senior Manager of Content Strategy

As part of our global Marketing Centre of Excellence and our Silicon Valley based Digital Marketing Team & Creative Services Group, the Senior Manager of Content Strategy will lead the Content Team, while providing increased value to our customers. The ideal candidate will have advanced publishing and content strategy experience and strong team management skills; the ability to manage multiple teams and dozens of projects simultaneously; and a problem-solving approach to all professional engagements. Experience in global, high tech industries and/or telecommunications is a plus. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct editorial strategy for all aspects of digital marketing to improve content and processes while driving engagement, increasing qualified leads and decreasing costs
  • Define content strategy for teams, based on business objectives, targeted personas and industry best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with globally distributed teams (Brand, Public Relations, Segment and Product Marketing) to produce compelling content for products, campaigns and events
  • Develop resonant messages for campaigns and products to maximize the impact of content, in order to funnel qualified traffic to relevant digital properties based on user journeys
  • Successfully deliver creative projects, event collateral, nurture campaigns, go-to-market campaigns and product launches
  • Empower nurture campaigns with strategic, gated content across the corporate website, content hubs, sales platforms and third-party websites
  • Consult on design of all collateral and assets, from corporate templates to impromptu event creative
  • Orchestrate content across products and properties with an integrated editorial calendar
  • Enhance content models and processes with rolling audits, while building intuitive taxonomies, conducting inventories, maintaining the digital asset library and researching competitive collateral
  • Optimize content quickly based on data analytics for impact, reuse and discoverability
  • Evolve corporate style guide while evangelizing standards that reflect our brand
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and outputs
  • Manage numerous complex projects, campaigns and the annual content budget
  • Research technology markets, trends and topics in order to analyse customer needs across industries and regions
  • Schedule and track projects while working with internal clients and teammates to troubleshoot content issues in a speedy and effective manner
  • Manage the workflow of assigned projects using task management systems
  • Manage the day-to-day work of the Content Team, including vendors and freelance copywriters
  • Ensure content is checked for accuracy and adherence to editorial and brand policies, and then follow up, track, and govern delivered assets
  • Write and edit a wide range of multimodal content


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years of content management and/or content strategy, digital backgrounds preferred
  • Outstanding team leadership and personnel management skills
  • Outstanding professional, intercultural and technical communication skills
  • Outstanding editorial skills, including the proven ability to develop content to bring out the best in other people’s ideas and writing
  • Strong customer service skills with an outstanding work ethic
  • Quick learner with the ability to engage teams at various levels of technical and non-technical depth
  • A problem-solver who is analytical (process-oriented), yet also pragmatic (product-minded)
  • Able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment while at the same time maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Word and PowerPoint required
  • Proficient in HTML, XML, as well as content management systems (Drupal) is a definite plus
  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in English, Communication Studies or Business/Marketing
