I would like to be able to deactivate all smart campaigns within a program or a folder at one time instead of going into each individual campaign to deactivate it? URL Token type in Programs

The idea it to have a URL program token type, together with the existing text, text area, ... types. Once created, such a token would either require to enter a Marketo landing page, a file from the design studio or an external URL. The Marketo landing page and the file from the design studio would be entered through picklists. Such tokens, when used in a link within an asset (such as the href on a <a> tag in a email), would of course natively support the "clic link" and "click link in email" triggers. Such tokens, when referring to a landing page, would change automatically values when the program is cloned to reflect the URL of the new landing page. Aggregate the lead scores of contacts within an organization to create a Company Lead Score. Marketo users are able to deliver content that helps progress relationships based on a contacts Lead Score.  However, we're unable to do the same based on the interest level across an organization. Example: Assume that the lead scores of 3 people from Disney progress because of certain actions taken: Contact 1 - Downloaded a white paper about Oracle Financials - (Lead Score +5) Contact 2 - Downloaded a white paper about Siebel  - (Lead Score +5) Contact 3 - Downloaded a white paper about Salesforce.com - - (Lead Score +5) Each contact's lead score is 5, however, their Aggregate Company Lead Score is 15. If there was a Company Lead Score in Marketo that rolled up the lead scores of contacts within an organizaiton, users would be in a better position to act on companies where interest is high. I want to be able to see just how much the features of MSI are being used by sales and not just for sending emails.  There are dozens of apps that can send emails from SF.  My team also use Tout.  I would like to measure and see who uses all the features of MSI and compare it to their performance.  With a price per user basis I feel I should be able to measure these stats.  I also need to justify its effectiveness to sales managers and its price to accounts. How many people are added on Watch Lists. How many MSI emails sent last week. How many Sales Users subscribe to leads/contacts. How often the full page app is accessed. Who are the most active Sales Team members using it. ... View more

Store images/files in program or create a File/Image program token type

Today, we can store various types of assets in a program, but we cannot stores files and images. When creating a gated content program, for instance, the file itself has to be located in the design studio. Same for email or landing page images. Enabling to store them in the program, with a name that would be prefixed with the program name, would make users life much easier when designing or cloning programs. After cloning, if you want to change the image, you would just go to the image asset and replace it, and automatically, all the emails and landing pages that use it would be updated, without need to edit them. When replacing an image, Marketo would check and enforce the fact that the image size remains the same. This could also be done with a "File/image" type or program token. This could drive to an even more powerful feature since we could imagine that with a token, the program designer would be able to set the min and max size of the image, which would also reduce the risk of errors. When populating the token, the user would have the choice between loading a new image from his laptop, capture an image from the web or use an image that is already in the design studio. The workaround would obviously to use the rich text token, but reason why we do not want to use rich text tokens for this is because it's error prone, especially in conjunction with responsive templates. People can too easily temper with size, style, etc... Another use cases would be to render the image URL in a CSS or HTML background, and it would be much easier to pick the image in the image library than having to look for it in the design studio and copy and paste it's URL. -Greg ... Smart clone program based reports

When one uses reports with programs in Marketing Activities, one usually setup the report to restrict to the content of the program. For instance, an email performance report would limt to the emails contained in the program. Currently, when you clone the program, it does updated the cloned reports to uses the content of the cloned program. You therefore have to edit the setup of all the reports in the program, which is very frustrating, as all other components have been cloned with smart rules. Please have this fixed. Greg ... The new image elements are great as they enable to secure the way images are insterted in an email and how the image will be formatted CSS-wise. I love the new Guided Landing Pages, but there is one fatal flaw that keeps me somewhat reliant on free-form landing pages: the ability to use HTML elements. Right now, doing something as simple as adding a Wistia/JWplayer video isn't something a frontend user can do. I can set up a defined space and give a variable for a video ID, but that is certainly not the same as allowing someone to optionally add and remove a video to an area. TinyMCE won't support scripts, so I'm out of luck. Moreover, as pushing the limits of what a Marketo LP can do is something I wind up doing more often than not, and a lot of that requires giving frontend users basic, basic script access to something being done in AngularJS and Backbone to edit a few things that need more than what variables can provide--as much as I'd like to move these styles to guided templates, it would break key functionality. Allowing for a little more finessing under the hood would be amazing. ... View more

Imagine this scenario: 1. Person A is listed in your Marketo database as person.a@company.com . 2. Person A unsubscribes. 3. Company.com gets acquired; now all their emails are person.a@conglomo.com 4. You update Person A's email address to keep good hygiene--maybe sales will do a one on one email with them sometime. 5. Marketo sees the email address change and re-subscribes Person A. While I would expect flags to be reset on say, invalid email, with an email address change, the Unsubscribe field is almost always used as a person-centric way of noting whether to mail someone or not. By resetting this field by default, you wind up emailing Person A when they've already told you they don't want to receive anything. Current Marketo behavior automatically re-subscribes the person and requires you to create a Smart Campaign to fix this. This should be the other way around; if you want to re-subscribe someone who's unsubscribed, you should have to do that through actions. The AdBridge ability to send a smart list / list over to Facebook Custom Audiences, LinkedIn, or Google Customer Match is great. But you still need to manually put these over to ensure it stays relevant. Wouldn't it be great if you could set it to keep the audience in sync hourly/daily? Or even in real time? Then, you could automatically drop customers out of ad sets when they have purchased, for example. ... View more

Prevent template approval if some editable zone ID's have been modified/removed

When modifying an email template, if you change or remove the ID of an editable zone and approve the template, all emails using this template will have a draft created. But if you look at these Drafts, the content of the editable zone which ID has been removed is gone. Forever. This is due to the fact that, in the database, the content are stored in link to the ID. It is absolutely necessary that at least a warning be raised when a web designer tries to approve a template which editable zone ID's have been changed or removed. The message should at least say : The editable zone ID's in the template have been modified. Approving this template will lead to the loss of content for XX emails are using it. Do you want to continue?" The dialog needs to have a field in which the used will be prompted to enter word or something like this. This dialog needs to be similar to the one that shows up when deleting a huge number of leads. I have not tried the same with a guided LP template, but I suspect it would produce the same undesirable result. So it also needs to be addressed. -Greg ... View more

I was surprised to see that there's no token for program name, I saw tokens for campaign name and similar, but no "program name". There are cases where I want to present something in activity log and I want to use the program name i.e. user clicked a link on the email *program name*. There are many other samples. Tokens are incredibly valuable for personalizing emails, if your data is clean. It would be great to have a working marketing calendar view. To see which emails are scheduled for which day with time and the amount of effect members. And even to subscribe people to it. It will also help to avoid several mailings on the same day. You can see scheduled batch campaigns, within a few clicks in the Campaign Inspector. However it does not show the date-time the batch is scheduled for. Also it's difficult to add recurring batches, but you don't want to see regular triggers. ... View more
