SFDC Sync: when synchronizing a program with an SFDC Campaign, raise an alert if the member statuses are not the same.

A good way to face sync problems is to sync a Marketo program with an SFDC campaign which member statuses are different.

It should not be possible. and the program sync dialog should 1/ Raise an alert and even if possible show only "compatible" campaigns.

Greg, when I've tried to sync a campaign with different statuses Marketo has never allowed me to do so and tells me the statuses are different.  I don't know if thats the idea you were thinking about but I know my instances have done that for me.

Hi Juli,

I tried it very recently and you can set the program / campaign sync. But then the sync it will fails when you try to add leads as members of the program.

After some more testing:

If the campaign has no member, Marketo will raise no error and will replace the members statuses in SFDC with the Channel statuses. And this will happen event if the SFDC statuses are not the default ones.

If the SFDC campaign has some members using the SFDC statuses, then the error message will show.

So this idea is to cover the first case. I feel Marketo should at least warn the user that the SFDC member statuses should be replaced.

Hi,

Yes, thats what I thought.  I've always had errors if the statuses in Marketo don't match those in SFDC, and then it tells me to go edit the statuses in SFDC to match (members or no members in a campaign in Marketo).  But yes, it would be great if it always warned you of the error no matter if there are members or not in Marketo or SFDC.

Great idea!

Juli
