Merge custom scoring fields

Merge custom scoring fields

Although I can create custom scoring fields for Behavior and Demographic scores, Marketo does not merge these fields when an anonymous record is merged (only the standard "Lead Score" field is merged).  As a result, I end up with Behavior and Demographic scores that don't add up to the total lead score, which is just confusing for users.

Ideally, customer scoring fields SHOULD be merged along with the lead score field.

Agreed, especially when Behavior and Demographic scores are recommended by Marketo.

Have to agree with that one. Especially where more and more people are cleaning off their cookies creating multiple anonymous entries. We originally thought our anonymous entries were faulty because of the duplication.

I just ran into this exact problem, scouring through a lead's activity log and trying to figure out why behavior score went from 500+ to 25 without any warning at all. Same with all of my other custom lead scoring fields. This makes tagging campaigns downright dangerous.

In an environment supporting multiple products, multiple product scores are required to keep people moving through the marketing and sales lifecycle (assuming Marketing and Sales would like to know in which products a lead expressed interest - which yeah, they do). Losing all of the custom scoring accrued anonymously up to the point of merge really makes custom scores pointless.

Has anyone on this thread implemented any creative workarounds to this issue?  Would love to hear about them!

I would prefer something a little more sophisticated, as in here:
