Maximize registrants for Seminars/Events

Maximize registrants for Seminars/Events

Hi!

We have the luxury of having too much registrations for seminars and other events.

It would be nice if you can set a maximum amount of participants for an event. After the maximum is reached, I would like to create an automated 'non-confirmation' email instead of the 'confirmation email' and add extra registrants to a waiting list.

Hi Heleen-
I totally agree with your suggestion - what we've done (although still manual) is two things: we sent an alert email for ever registration to the field marketer hosting the event so that they can keep track without having to "live" in their Marketo program minute-by-minute and when the threshold is reached, we re-direct the registration page to a generic "We're full - contact us @" page so that people aren't even allowed to register through the normal method.

An alternative you could employ:

Change your progression steps of the program to include "Waitlisted" - upon form fill out, they are given that value and not sent a confirmation email.  It sends an alert email to you with two links - Approve or Deny.  Set up a smart campaign to look for the click link of Approve and set their progression to Registered and kick of the confirmation email.

Just trying to think outside of the box! 🙂

This idea is one of the most requested in the Community over here: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoIdeaDetail?id=08750000000HOwIAAW

The good news is that this feature is coming in the first half of this year.

Hi Veronica-
Great to hear - can this be merged with the existing thread?

Thanks!
