Index of SPAM laws by country

Index of SPAM laws by country

I'm hoping to find an index of SPAM laws by country with details on opt-in requirements and email marketing guidelines. Ie. For each country, there'd be an explanation of whether or not opt-in is required before you can email users based in the country.

Thanks,
David

These are probably the closest you're going to find. I'm not sure anyone has compiled all of the spam laws laws in that specific way but it would certainly be useful.

I'd love to have opt-in programs created by Marketo based on country SPAM laws, so they're standarized/easy.

The official EU directives can be found at http://europa.eu/

Please keep in mind each EU member state has room for enforcing additional constraints.
Austria and The Netherlands are very strict; Finland is among the most relaxed.

While I agree all marketing automation platforms can make simpler to deal with a wide variety of dispersed legislation, such EU, Canada and Australia, it is up to a great extent a legal subject beyond of scope of any product. There is a thin line between what the platform can simplify and the advisory roles of legal treams. None can be fully replaced.

That is an opinion based on my experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite 11i in the EMEA region. The HR module, to name one, is heavily localised. Still, each customer has its own customisations to comply with requirements specific to its industry.

The same principle applies, in varying degrees, to any software.
