Allow multiple country value paste option to visibility rules

Allow multiple country value paste option to visibility rules

When editing visibility rules, I wish there was a way to add multiple values (separated by commas) like other form options or a pick-list even referencing multiple values. Versus going through the list one by one. If you want to show a hidden field now you have to click through the list to add multiple countries. It'd be nice to save time for example with a list of 25 countries to just paste that instead of drop down list clikc to add, click to add.

I don't understand the question -- maybe you shouldn't open an Idea until you've confirmed there isn't a way to do something?

Updated. When I asked Marketo support they confirmed it wasn't possible so to add to this forum.

RegEx would be awesome

Hi Kristina,

I also try to use show a certain field on the form, when "Contains" multiple countries. However, it's not working. Just want to check with you, you mentioned that Marketo support confirmed that it's not possible to use "Contains" + multiple values?

Thanks,

Correct I thought I found a work around with contains but support confirmed it won't work with a list of multiple values.

They shouldn't confirm things that aren't true.

The correct separator is | (the pipe character).

Ulf Contains (and Not Contains) is indeed a regex match. Someone done told someone wrong on this one.

Hi Sanford,

I tried to add "|" (the pipe character). However, it's still not working. I tried, for example "Italy|Germany|France...", and tried "Italy | Germany | France | ..." (space in between). Can you tell how can I modify to make it work? My goal here is to show certain fields, such as: a check box field, a rich text field, when "Country = Italy, Germany, France..."

No spaces, and make sure you're using the Server Value (not the cosmetic value the user sees in the dropdown options).

Also, you shouldn't use the "=" sign. "Matches <regular expression>" or "in list [list,of,choices]" are better terms, since

  Country == "Italy|Germany|France"

has a totally different meaning.

Hi Sanford,

It's working! Thank you! When you mention "Server Value", I got it means "Stored Values".

I created a new post with the same question. Can you please solve this post? I feel it could be helpful for others. Allow multiple country values working in Form Visibility Rules

PS: I didn't use "=" or "==". It was for describe what I was trying to do:)

Best,

Becky
