Ability to reset a lead's cookie

Ability to reset a lead's cookie

There are instances when I know a cookie is no longer tracking the correct lead (i.e., they may have forwarded an email so the cookie is now on someone else's computer, etc.).  In these instances I would like to have the ability to remove their cookie tracking, so that incorrect activity isn't being recorded.

It would be great if we could see a list of devices that are cookied under the lead's record. Then we can remove tracking for one or more devices as needed.

More than one device can use the same cookie under some circumstances (don't ask me to explain this now!).  Not even sure the relationship between cookie and the first device that used is stored anywhere. (Trying to recreate it from the Activity Log is going to be impossible if the records are aged out.)

You can get a list of the current cookies for a lead from the API, and if you have access to your web server logs you can replay the connection between IP/UA/cookie.  So if you are absolutely sure an IP was never used by the right human lead, you could reassociate the cookie to an empty lead.

Thanks for the insight, Sanford Whiteman . I'm not an API expert but I'll see if I can pull a list of cookies that are associated with the IP address of our company. That should help cut down on the amount of company devices that have been cookied when coworkers click on tracked links.
