Ability to exclude some domain names from reports

Ability to exclude some domain names from reports

Hi,

I am currently working on an asset performance matrix. It seems that some assets have been viewed or downloaded a lot. But looking at the details I notice that for some, the downloads mainly come from my colleagues.

Therefore I would like to be able to exclude any leads with @talend.com email addresses from all reports to have a more accurate view of prospects & customers activities. For instance, by setting a default view at the admin level or by ticking a box at a report level.

I could of course create a smart list and then exclude it from all reports but adding an extra filter affects the running performance of my reports (which is already very low).

The only way I know of is to create a Smart List in the Leads Database tab - we call ours "EXC-Employees". Then, in the Analytics tab on any report (ie: Email Link Performance report, or a custom report, etc...), you'll need to add a Filter into the Smart List tab. In this case, type "Member of" into the search bar (or it's listed under the Special Filters folder) and select Member of Smart List - select Lead "not in" from the drop down box, then select your Exclusion list from the second drop down. You should only have to set this up once/report. I am unsure of a way to do this in the Admin panel or for all reports at once. Remeber if you set it up this way, you'll need to change "Use ANY filters" to "Use ADVANCED filters" and set up accordingly.

A similar Idea was submitted yesterday "Systematically suppress your own IP/Domain from analytics" - please vote for it.

Cecile, adding on an additional "Smart List" filter especially with the logic "not in" can affect peformance. One thing you can do instead is have static list of these people you want to exclude.

I suggest:
1. Set up a campaign for anytime a lead created with an email address containing @talend.com and in the flow add them to a static list. Then use this for your segmentation and say Member of List "not in" <name of list>

You can do this for employees, competitors, bots etc. Anything you want to exclude often.
