We need to use a static list, but Marketo pulls data from our Salesforce records instead

Please help us figure out how to bypass other contact data that is in Marketo from our Salesforce sync. We need to use a static file with unique URLs assigned to each record, but Marketo pulls in data from our current customers (we have a problem with duplicate records) and does not pull in the unique URL and other variable data associated with the static list. Our member list shows the correct information, including the URLs field, but our email tests are missing the variable data we need from the static file. What do  we need to do?

Hi Monika

I think it is difficult to avoid your situation. If lead already exist in database, from SFDC and if you import a list in Marketo, it will update the SFDC records which are already part of Marketo.

I will suggest to re-import the list with additional field values which you want to update, though it will update the same SFDC records, but additional field data will be updated in same record.

Also, best way is to clean the duplicates to avoid such rework.

Say

Unique URL Field = XYZ (list)

and it will bring in the right records.

As Kapil suggests, this is a serious dupe problem. I'd reach out to Lean Data or RingLead to help.
