Creating Composite Primary Keys

On the database side of Marketo, are you able to create composite primary keys, in which it can define more than one field as the primary key? Currently "Email" is the default primary key field, however is there a way to use that along with another field to define a new primary key?

thanks!

Re: Creating Composite Primary Keys

Hi Roela,

Since this isn't something you can change on the front end of Marketo, I don't know that there is documentation on it.  Here is another discussion on the same topic: can I set change a key instead of email address? .

Thank you!

Courtney

Re: Creating Composite Primary Keys

Hi Roela,

If you work with support, they can identify a combination of fields to be the primary key in your instance.  I would recommend thinking all of the implications through for this change as it could cause a number of duplicates in your instance.  It may be worth discussing with your account rep as well.

Thank you,

Re: Creating Composite Primary Keys

Thanks Courtney for the response. I can definitely consult with support on that front. In the meantime are there any sort of documentation on the community portal that I can reference to create composite primary keys?
