Advantages to using {{SP_Send_Alert_Info}} token?

Hi - we currently use 10+ dynamic fields in our alert emails to sales for their lead activity. Fields include lead name, company name, email address, phone number, behavior and demographic scores, most recent interesting moment, etc... and a link to open the lead record in SFDC.

I'm reading about using the SP_Send_Alert_Info token in the Marketo product doc (Use the Send Alert Info Token {{SP_Send_Alert_Info}} - Marketo Docs - Product Docs​) and trying to understand the benefit of using this vs. our current setup. I can see that it would make it easier to update fields in our alerts, if we ever need to add or remove a field we could do it in one place vs. in multiple different alert emails (we have a few different ones set up based on the lead activity type). Are there any other advantages that I'm missing? Are most people using this?

Hi Megan

To be honest, I wouldn't use the SP_Send_Alert_Info token instead of the 10 tokens that you already have - I would include both in the alert email. The dynamic tokens give the salesperson a snapshot of who the lead is and what their lead scores are. And the main benefit of the SP_Send_Alert_Info token is to also include the direct link to both their SFDC Lead Record and the lead's activity log in Marketo. It will also give you the name of the smart campaign that sent the alert - although this is only useful if you've used some sensible naming conventions for that campaign. (Otherwise it won't mean much to sales!).

I also am not a fan of the SP field. You can create a direct SFDC link yourself (and you may have already) using your base SFDC URL and the Lead ID.

the challenge is that you may need your SFDC admin to add that value to a separate field first.

can the same thing be done using Dynamics CRM?
