engagement stream trigger

I have an engagement stream with a two triggers in the smart list > Opportunity Added and Opportunity Updated.

Can someone tell me why I am not able to select 'Use Any filters' like you can in the Default Programs.

The only option is to 'Use ALL filters'.

Is this an Engagement Engine specific rule or an Admin privileges/access issue?

Thanks, John

Re: engagement stream trigger

Filter settings only work for filters (green elements). You only have two triggers (orange elements). Triggers are OR by default. If you add 5 triggers (orange) the flow would fire on any if the trigger conditions. I hop that helps 😉

Re: engagement stream trigger

Hi Diederik, Though filter settings work only with green elements(filters) - it seems that we cannot use those filter settings even if we have filters instead of triggers in the smart list of transition rules. Could you confirm that these filter settings also work in transition rules' smartlist of engagement programs? I tried and couldn't Thanks!

Re: engagement stream trigger

Hi Alok,

P.s. In engagement program I only actually use triggers.

You can use filters and filter logic I believe, but it at least always need 1 trigger to actually trigger the transition. So you could add a trigger for "added to opportunity without constraints" and "opportunity updated". And top this off with some filters which do have constraints and filter logic.

Does this help?

Re: engagement stream trigger

Hi Diederik,

I agree. Transition rules need a trigger to be active. We can use the triggers. However, it doesn't seem that we can use advanced filters. If we use the filters, we have to use the "Use All Filters". There's no drop down for selecting "Use Any or Advanced filters" as available in standard programs. The use of constraints with their specific filtering capability seems good.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: engagement stream trigger

This is an engagement specific issue. Though we should have filters instead of triggers to use advanced filters in any program. Even if we use the filters, we cant use advanced filters in transition rules.

Re: engagement stream trigger

The idea to me is that they are moving from stream to stream, seamlessly. The triggers are their natural path of progression and there usually isn't much filtering needed at that stage.

That being said, you should always clearly map out who you want in these engagement programs and possibly by stream (when they first enter) and create smart campaigns ("feeder campaigns") for this. Here you have all of your filters available to you. Same goes with pausing leads, create smart campaigns for these actions as well.

Hope this helps,

Kim
