Tracking Anonymous Web Activity in Salesforce - Excluding Certain Companies

Hi,

I've reached out to Marketo support - so they are checking into this for me but I'm curious if anyone else has done this.

Is there a way to exclude our company (and any other specified companies) from the Anonymous Web Activity in Salesforce as displayed by Sales Insight? Visits from my company are at the top of the list 🙂 so we'd like to remove ourself from appearing here.

Thanks for any ideas!

I know that you can edit your views to remove people from your company, but I'm not sure this translates to the anonymous web activity portion of sales insight. I always thought the web activity section was most helpful when on the lead or contact record; the overall view I think gives almost too much information. But definitely interested if support knows a workaround!

The best way is to defuse internal web activity from being tracked at all.  Have your webserver not initialize Munchkin if the client's IP address and/or PTR is in one of your known ranges.

Thanks for the suggestion....will have to think about this as I think it would impact my ability to test and see results in Marketo and SFDC.

It doesn't have to impact testing.  Just program a way to override the exclusion.  For example, if you set a certain cookie, then your browser gets tracked even if you're coming from one of the known IPs.
