"Change data value" delay

So I'm having a smart campaign with at smart list with a trigger "Link clicked in email", and the flow sets a data value to true.. My issue is that from the time i click on the link, to the data is set, it almost takes 2minuts, which breaks alot of my other smart campaigns and triggers.

Is there anyway to prevent or speed up the change data operation?

Re: "Change data value" delay

Hi Rasmus,

You will need to put either the Sync to SFDC or Send Alert step at the start of the Flow, before the Change Data Value. Priority of campaigns is based on the first action in the flow steps.

Re: "Change data value" delay

Hi Rasmus,

Marketo prioritizes certain campaign over others based on their flow actions.  For instance, a campaign with a flow step of Sync to SFDC or Send Email/Alert will have priority to execute over one that is just changing a data value. (There is an idea on the community to let users pick which campaigns to prioritize).

In my company, we have used the send alert to help prioritize campaigns that were mostly comprised of change data value flow steps. We send the alert to an internal email address that collects all of these alerts.

Hey Val, very interesting workaround that you've come up with! I'm assuming it's working pretty well?

Re: "Change data value" delay

Hey Dory - Yes, it definitely did help.  Pre-forms 2.0 we had campaigns that were using API calls that triggered our trials, but they all start with a data value change and weren't processing the lead fast enough, resulting in delays between the user signing up for and receiving their trial information.  Our former Marketo Admin contacted support about it and their suggestion was to change around out flow step to improve campaign processing.

Additionally, turning off any "inefficient" campaigns helps this quite a bit as well in regards to campaign processing.

Hmm that did not work.. it still takes 2 minutes to set the data.

this is my setup, am I doing it correct?
