How long would take to sync Marketo and Salesforce?

I am setting a smart list at Marketo and chose attributors from  Salesfoce. But it took so long time and didn't match the  leads number with Salesforce.
My concerns are :
1. How long will take to sync between Marketo and Salesforce if the attributor and value were exist within Salesforce ?
2. How long will take to sync between Marketo and Salesforce if I update the value within Salesforce?
3. How long will take to sync between Marketo and Salesforce if I create a new attributor in Salesforce?

Do you have any solutions to accelerate the synchronization process or other automatic proposal?

Hi Zuyan,

For #2, this varies by the size of your database. We have a bi-directional sync and I usually allow 5-7 minutes for data to sync between the two...

Yes, I agree with Adam. I usually also think 5 minutes. If you're concerned about it you can always add the sync lead to sfdc flowstep in your campaigns if applicable.

I also agree with Adam.

If you are concerned with your sync or how many records you had, I would reach out to support.

Support can check out the progress logs for your sync:

We had them up our limit for our sync because it was taking such a long time based on our database.

Best of luck!!

Re: How long would take to sync Marketo and Salesforce?

Hi dears
I have 40K leads within Salesforce but just have 20K within Marketo at smart list, and it took 2days to sync between the two. What's more, Till now I can't get any leads within Marketo when I set up a smart list which I updated the value last Wednesday in Salesforce.
I don't understand the reason why I can't get result.

Do you have any notifications in regards to your sync in Marketo?  Do you have any filters on your smart list?

Re: How long would take to sync Marketo and Salesforce?

Sorry, there is no any notifications in my Marketo, just the result doesn't match with Salesforce.
I set 4 smart list to test. And the filters as below:
1. Has Opportunities & Locale & Product (just show 20k leads but having 40k leads within Salesforce)
2. Locale & Product & Stage (just show 20k leads but having 40k leads within Salesforce)
3. Has Opportunities & Product Costumers ID (I test a seller's ID, didn't show any result)
4. Lead Attributes:Locale & Product & Status (just show 90 leads but having 130 leads within Salesforce)

From above test, I found a tendency of the leads NUMBER sync with SF decreased for item 1 & 2.  And what's worse,  I checked some leads at my test smart list, some of them doen't match the latest information at Salesforce. I can't identify the reason and example as below picture:

I want to know the factors impact the synchronization progress between the two except for the size of database and workload of Marketo.  And I am one of the Admin of Marketo, do I have any right to check sync between the two or can I do further actions to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Re: How long would take to sync Marketo and Salesforce?

From what I have seen first hand (with upped levels) is that the best rate of Sync you will ever get is about 250k per day (that is with the standard batch size upped from 10K to 30K).

The Marketo update cycle for these batches run hourly, normally for 10,000 records (we had it at 30,000) It would seem that a normal cycles takes about 90 minutes for each block of 30,000, and returns to idle when it’s finished the batch.

NOTE: this is currently after an upload of new leads/contacts etc
