Question mark characters on list import

Hi

I have a list in Excel and some of the details have Acute, Grave, and Diaeresis characters.

In Excel they display OK, in CSV they display OK (using notepad to view), but once the list is imported into Marketo, these characters are replaced with black diamonds containing question marks.  The CSV is saved as UTF-8.

Any ideas?

Re: Question mark characters on list import

My understanding is this is caused by how Windows saves UTF8.

If you are using Windows, you may have to Save in CSV, then open that in Notepad, then copy and paste that back into CSV file.

Or maybe re-save the file as UTF 8 in Notepad.

Re: Question mark characters on list import

Thanks Josh.

I opened the CSV in notepad and re-saved as UTF-8 and it imported perfectly.
