Global lead scoring vs. program-specific lead scoring

Hi Marketo Community!

Within our organization, we have multiple programs (or verticals). Currently we have global lead scoring set up, and it's in question as to whether this is the best approach. This was set up before I started here and I'm sure there was a good reason for it, but now that we're revisiting it I want to make sure we get it right.

What do you think? Is it best practice to have one global lead scoring program as it is one organization, or is it more beneficial to account for the nuances of each program?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Re: Global lead scoring vs. program-specific lead scoring

We have a Global scoring but we take into account the regions in the scoring too.
Some place more score on certain data/activity but we simply use Country filters for the local scoring.

So some regions would reach MQL sooner than other regions.

We also have a global scoring model, but place weight variation on program and activity types rather than regions. We use a combination of score tokens, filters and smart campaign qualification rules (ex. each lead in a given score campaign can only run through the campaign flow once every 2 hours or 6 months or whatever makes sense).

Global scoring is always preferred with single Workspace systems. You can do what Ed suggests of course as part of the MQL routing if there are regional preferences.

Please do not do Program Level scoring -it creates all sorts of maintenance headaches and usually gets messy as people start to do whatever they want to achieve MQL.
