Performing Calculations and Changing the Data Value

Is it possible to perform a calculation on a field and add the new value to a lead field?

Here's an example:

We want to run a 30 day promotion, but those 30 days vary for each person based on when we send them an email.

Technically this is what we want to do:
Add 30 days to today's date and then write it to a lead's field.
Then, using tokens, I want to present that future date in an email.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks

Marketo does have formula field types, but I haven't used them with date math.  If you synch your data to SFDC, you would likely have better luck using their formula field and synching the result back to a Marketo field.

I would use your CRM if you are able to.

I say no, you can't do this type of work in Marketo.

As far as a work around for the particular campaign you mention. If you have 2 campaigns, 1 qualifying which then requests the second campaign. You can put in a wait 30 days step in the 2nd campaign before taking an action 30 days later. But no, "Math" isn't supported.

Another hacky option is create a "counter" using a score field, do a +1 increment daily for members of the counter program and at 30 days take your desired action then reset counter and remove individual - or whatever you see fit.

I have used this method a number of times.

This thread is from 5 years ago!

(Also, Velocity can be used to do this as described.)
