Archiving leads that aren't relevant right now

About a year ago (before we had Marketo) we imported about 160,000 leads into Salesforce, which are now synced in Marketo as "known." We're not marketing to this group, but those leads are seriously distorting our lead funnel by making it look like we have a hugely disproportionate # of known leads. What's the best way to remove those leads from the rest of the funnel? Should I create an entirely new lead status called "archive" and make sure all those leads are marketing suspended, or blacklisted? I don't really want to add them to our inactive list, because even that is a group of people I'd like to market to. I'd also be happy to just un-sync them from Marketo, but I don't know how to do that right. Any help you could provide would be great.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

There's a recent Discussion on this topic that might be helpful.

You might create a separate funnel stage such as "archived" and move them there.  This would remove them from your primary funnel reporting but allow you to still track them and move them back into the funnel if appropriate.

You might also use the creation date filter on the reports to only look at activity for recent leads.
