Adding Acquistion Program to SFDC

Marketo Minds,

My organization is looking to improve our reporting and one idea that I have is to create an 'Acquisition Program' field in SFDC and syncing it with the field that already exists in Marketo. This field would be exclusively for Marketing, and cannot be edited in anyway by sales. The reason for wanting to add this field is because we want more visibility into leads that marketing generated and which leads convert into opportunities..

Like other organizations, we are having a hard time reporting on leads that turn into opportunities, and I was curious to see if anyone has added this field to SFDC, or have advice on how they have achieved accurate reporting related to leads in opportunities.

Best,
Taylor

Re: Adding Acquistion Program to SFDC

We are working on a similar effort to denote the campaign of record that was the primary trigger at time of MQL. The issue is the last campaign may not be the trigger if there is a time lag before the opportunity is created.

For now we are drawing insights from campaign influence.

Re: Adding Acquistion Program to SFDC

We wanted the same thing and ended up creating a custom field in SFDC that would sync to the field in Marketo.

Re: Adding Acquistion Program to SFDC

Clinton - Do you measure campaign influence thru RCA or do you have other ways to measure this?

Amelia - Have you found the field helpful overall? Are you able to use it in opportunity reporting?

Thanks for your reponses!
