Using Salesforce Custom Object data in Segmentation

Is it possible to use the Salesforce custom object data in your segmentations.  I want to create some segments based on custom object data we are syncing but are not seeing the

Has {Custom Object}

Filter in my segmentation smart lists.  Is this a matter of time for the database schemas to synch, or is it a limitation of Marketo at this time?

Hey Chris,

You'll need to enable the custom object for synching, which you can do from the "object synch" tab of the Salesforce area of the admin panel.

https://community.marketo.com/MarketoArticle?id=kA050000000KyrHCAS

After that point you should get various filters and triggers showing up in your smart lists.

Re: Using Salesforce Custom Object data in Segmentation

That part is working for me... what I'm finding is that the Salesforce rows and the Marketo rows are not matching up.  Why would that be?

For example, the stats I'm receiving on one of the objects I want to synch are:

Salesforce Rows:

73788

Marketo Rows:

11899

Re: Using Salesforce Custom Object data in Segmentation

Weird...how long ago did you enable the object synch? Where are you getting the row stats from?

I have found it can take a bit of time for stuff to synch over but don't recall how long exactly.

So it would seem to me either data is still synching OR it may be that Marketo is only synching rows that are related to leads that are in the Marketo database.

So if you have a bunch of records in your custom object related to non-Marketo SFDC leads/contacts, it seems possible that those would not be synched.

I am speculating here a bit. I'd contact support if it doesn't match up within an hour or two.

Re: Using Salesforce Custom Object data in Segmentation

Hi Chris,

I'm facing the same issue. I already synch the salesforce custom objects and the 'has {Custom Object}' appears in any standard smart list, but do not appears in the smart list provided 'inside' the segmentation feature.

Could you solve this issue?

Thanks

Following....

I'm looking for this as well. I'm trying to capture data from the Asset object for Segmentation. It's available for Smart Lists, but not Segmentation.

Agree Christy M -- is there an Idea to post to?  I'd vote on it!

I have the same issue. Custom object is synched but not showing as available in the segmentation list as "has objectname" Any update on this?

We're having this issue as well.  Josh Hill any workarounds for using custom objects in segmentations?
