Marketo Project Plan Template?

Hey everyone, relatively new to Marketo (first post but have been using/reading all the valuable info that's posted in the Community here) and am leading the project to get Marketo fully integrated with SFDC and up and running/fully opertaional in the coming weeks.

Does anyone have a specific Project Plan Template that you can share in terms of the various stages to get Marketo up and running and the tasks within each stage? Would like a roadmap to use for planning purposes and to update my manager and the team of the progress of the project and timelines within this document.

Thanks!

Re: Marketo Project Plan Template?

Hi Paul,

I have reached out to our customer success team to see if they might have anything for you.

In the mean time, I did manage to compile a few resources that will hopefully help.
  1. The starting point would be here. It teaches you how to use Marketo and implement basic campaigns: https://community.marketo.com/MarketoGetStarted
  2. Here is a customizable PPT to communicate the programs and plans you have: http://www.marketo.com/media/marketing-quarterlyyearly-planning-customizable-powerpoint-template
Hope this helps!

Hi Paul,

There is also this Success with Marketing Automation E-Book I found and the check list on pg 23 may be helpful as well: http://www.marketo.com/ebooks/how-to-succeed-with-marketing-automation/

Paul,

You might find my Guide helpful: http://www.marketingrockstarguides.com

There are several posts on setup. Also happy to share some wisdom if you email me: jdhill@marketingrockstarguides.com

Some Key Steps I go through with my clients:
  1. SPF/DKIM Setup
  2. CNAME Domain choice
  3. Prepare SFDC in Sandbox - do you need to make changes to your workflow to take advantage of Marketo?
  4. Lead Scoring Plan
  5. Data Management Plan
  6. Smart Lists you'll need (Customers, Suppression, etc)
  7. Segmentations or Static Lists (can do later too)
  8. Program Channel Types and Progressions
  9. Naming Scheme
  10. Document your setup!
