Issues with Nurture

I have a couple things happening and would really appreciate your help!

1) New leads are being created by nurture. How is this even possible? lead activity record shows 'lead created' as first activity at the exact same day/time they beomce a member of nurture. I need to fix this since these leads are coming in with [not provided] info and they are not duplicates.

2) I have tasks/alerts setup for sales that says assign task when lead reaches MQL, or was previously recycle and renews interest, when they show interest in high-value content, etc. (lots of scenarios). But what is happening is a person may come out of recycle status, become an MQL and download something high-value. So sales is getting a task for each thing - in this example, 3 tasks. Not good! Anyone see this and know a way to fix it? Not sure how to program that if activity was created same day, dont create a new one - or something like that.

Hope you all can help!! I cannot stand it when sales wakes up Monday morning pissed off. Thanks!!

Re: Issues with Nurture

1) Chances are the lead is already in your database, but using a different email address than the one in your nurture program. Or, perhaps they were forwarded your nurture email from someone else or found your landing page through natural search.

2) One way you could address this is to temporarily add a lead to a list when you set a task. Then, don't set tasks for leads that are already a member of that list. For example:

Smart Campaign A Flow:

- Set Task if lead is not in list X
- Request Smart Campaign B

Smart Campaign B Flow:

- Add to list X
- Wait 1 day
- Remove from list X

Re: Issues with Nurture

Thanks

1) I dont think this is the issue because that would mean over 100 people forwarded the email to people that filled out the form. And why would they all fill it out with [not provided] when the field is mandatory? Also, how can they be in my database and use another email when the form is pre-popped? This doesnt sound right either.

2) I added some actions to the flow that said if they are a member of the other campaign launnching the trigger, then dont add a task

Re: Issues with Nurture

Do you have a trigger that is adding leads to the nurture when they are created?  Is the form that they are filling out inside the engagement program?

Re: Issues with Nurture

I have a trigger that adds leads as they are created if they meet a certain criteria (some sources are omitted from nurture). The form is part of the nurture program and is not used on any other page that is accessible or promoted outside of nurture.

Re: Issues with Nurture

Engagement programs behave like other programs in that if you have a form on a local landing page to the program, any lead that fills out the form will be acquired AUTOMATICALLY by that program and added to the membership of the program.  It seems as if this is what is happening in your case.

Re: Issues with Nurture

My question is HOW did they get to the form if they were not invited to the nurture? Not only was this offer not the first email in the nurture series (if you are correct, how did they skip half the stream and get to this form??), they cannot get to this form from any other place than to be invited. flow is they are invited and then they get the first email the day it's scheduled to go out.

Also - this is not an engagement program, this is a nurture. I have 3 nurtures running and did not see the need to reinvent the wheel and re-create them in an engagement program which is simply a redundant use of my time.
