Mobile Device Support

I looked in the Community, but was unclear as to the current status of mobile device support.

Does Marketo support web page and email development for mobile devices (editors, templates, etc.)
Is there a preview mode for pages/emails developed for mobile devices?
Are there reports that indicate how many emails or pages were viewed with mobile devices?

Marketo, like all vendors, has mobile at the forefront of their development efforts (based on the publicly shared product roadmap). That being said, existing support is limited. I'll go point by point with your questions:

• Design: Landing page design is not optimized for mobile; responsive design is not easily achieved (we have a solution for this that involves custom coding). The email designer supports mobile-friendly and responsive design, but you are responsible for coding your emails this way.
• Preview mode: Not at the moment, I suggest using another service like Litmus or responsive.is to test your designs for mobile.
• Reports: Again, I'm sure it's something they are planning on doing, but as of now, unless you are directing mobile users to a different page, there is no way to differentiate the traffic.

We also support responsive emails - in fact, there are over 25 responsive templates in the program library that you can download and use.

Hi Micky:

Regarding responsive landing pages, we made a responsive landing page template for Marketo that's freely available. Documented and everything!

Here's the article I wrote about how it works with Marketo. The landing page itself is the result that you'll get—try making the browser skinnier and you can see the width respond as it would on other devices. But if you want to see other examples with better designs, you can check out some of our actual landing pages (e.g.). They're all responsive, and designed by an actual designer (instead of just me!).
