Landing Pages not showing up in Google search

Hi,

Each time I'm creating a landing page, I'm populating the metadata (title, description and tags) however my landing pages are never showing up in Google search. How come? Could it be that there is a hidden code on my pages that are preventing those pages to be ranked?

How soon after creating the page are you looking for it to show up? I'm assuming it takes a few days for google to rank it.

I'm monitoring on a daily basis and they just never show up. not 24 hours, not 1 week after...

Re: Landing Pages not showing up in Google search

Are you looking in the Content | Site Content | Landing Pages section?  Your Marketo landing page names will be displayed in the format "/[your landing page name].html".

If they aren't showing up, does the Robots field of the landing page's Edit Page Meta Tags dialog box have "noindex"?  If so, you should change it to "index".

http://www.talend.com/robots.txt

There's your robots file, I can't see any marketo landing pages anywhere, so i can't see if you're blocking them from being crawled cause I don't know what your CNAME is. As Elliot says, in the Marketo header section, you need to have index set, if noindex is set it won't be crawled.

Also, in google webmaster tools is there a property setup for your Marketo landing pages? ie my website is planonsoftware.com, but in webmaster tools I also have pages.planonsoftware.com setup as a site.

we also have following code on our template, can this impact the organic search?

<!-- Google Tag Manager -->
<noscript><iframe src="//www.googletagmanager.com/ns.html?id=GTM-PSBN"
height="0" width="0" style="display:none;visibility:hidden"></iframe></noscript>
<script>(function(w,d,s,l,i){w[l]=w[l]||[];w[l].push({'gtm.start':
new Date().getTime(),event:'gtm.js'});var f=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],
j=d.createElement(s),dl=l!='dataLayer'?'&l='+l:'';j.async=true;j.src=
'//www.googletagmanager.com/gtm.js?id='+i+dl;f.parentNode.insertBefore(j,f);
})(window,document,'script','dataLayer','GTM-PSBN');</script>
<!-- End Google Tag Manager -->

Re: Landing Pages not showing up in Google search

Cécile - Check in the admin section, Landing Pages. https://app-h.marketo.com/#LPA0A1  <-- Whatever the domain name is there, shouldn't be restricted by your robots.txt file.

Google Tag Manager in and of itself shouldn't have any impact on search results.

Also, are you linking your corporate site to these Marketo pages? You need a link between your site & the Marketo page for a search engine to find it. Or you can just submit the URL to Google Webmaster tools for it to be instantly crawled. That's under HEALTH --> Fetch as Google.

This is already the case...
